Foundation Checking

Foundation Checking is a Bank-On certified account that meets the national account standard of the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund. Foundation Checking does not offer Standard Overdraft Coverage or Enhanced Overdraft Coverage and does not charge overdraft fees. When items are presented and there are Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) in the account to pay the Items, then those items will be returned unpaid.

- Monthly Maintenance Fee: $3 per month
- Requirement to Avoid Monthly Maintenance Fee: Waived if primary account owner is under 18 or Active-Duty Military Service members, Veterans, their beneficiaries, and their caregivers. Columbia Bank is a proud partner of the Veterans Benefits Banking Program offering Foundation Checking with no monthly maintenance fee for Active-Duty Military Service Members, Veterans, their beneficiaries, and their caregivers. ATM & Debit Card Services
- Debit Card: Visa Debit Card
- Columbia Bank ATM Transactions & Statements: $0 per transaction
- Non-Columbia Bank ATM Withdrawals: $2.50 per transaction (ATM owner fees apply)
- International Transactions: 2.00% of card transaction amount. Transactions made outside the U.S., in either foreign currency or U.S. dollars, using a Columbia Bank card.
Temporary waiver of fees: The monthly maintenance and paper statement fee (where applicable) associated with this account will be waived through March 2026. This waiver period will allow you the opportunity to better understand the requirements to waive those fees on your new account.
